Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Marikina, the Rotary Club of Marikina North was  chartered on 03 September 1980 with 26 members. Its Charter President is Ponciano B.P.  “Pons” Pineda (+), then Director of the Institute of the National Language. The current  president is Bert Mendoza, an information technology consultant (research and  development), married to Spouse Jessi with 1 son, and who was inducted into Rotary in  July 2017.

There are to date 52 members with an average age of 50 years, 13 of whom are women,  with 4 honorary members in its roster. It belongs to Rotary International (R.I.) District  3800, consisting of 105 other clubs in Rizal Province, Malabon, Navotas, Kalookan,  Valenzuela, San Juan, Marikina, Pasig, and Mandaluyong, Philippines. It is known for  being one of the very few clubs that conducts its meetings in Filipino. It meets every  other Tuesday, 8:30 P.M., either virtually or at the Knights of Columbus Clubhouse in SSS  Village, Marikina City.

It is a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club, was recently a 100% TRF sustaining member club,  and is perennially both an EREY and a 100% Foundation Giving Club. Half of its  membership are currently, or had previously served as, district officers in various  capacities, led by PDG Tonipi Parungao who served as District Governor in RY 2020-2021.  It has consistently supported the district by hosting many major district events and  seminars, such as the District Training Assembly (twice), the Presidents-Elect Training  Seminar (thrice), the District Handover Ceremonies, District Membership Seminar (twice),  PalaRotary (twice), and other various seminars, workshops, foras, and events. Exactly 2 years  ago, it served as the lead club of the District Conference.

In the first 20 years of its existence, the club was known for the exceptional quality of its  Club Service. With its trademark battlecry of "Walang Kakalas, Walang Bibitiw", the club  had enjoyable fellowships, a raucous atmosphere, an almost-perfect attendance in its  then-weekly meetings, very active Spouses, and an outstanding bulletin ('SANDIWA")  adjudged the district's best four times. It pioneered the district sportsfest in the late 80's  dubbed 'PALAROTARY'.

To fulfill its most basic obligation - to share Rotary with others - the club has already  sponsored eight (8) clubs, namely, RC Rizal Centro in 1991, RC Marikina East (1993), RC  Marikina Heights (1999), RC Metro Marikina (with RC Marikina, 2000), RC Loyola Xavier  Marikina (2010), RC San Mateo Highlands (2011), RC San Mateo Midtown (2014), and  RC San Mateo Central (2108).

It thrice received R.I.'s highest award for a service project, the R.I. Significant  Achievement Award, initially for its 'Parangal sa Senior Citizens’ project in 1992, with the  last one for the 'Pre-School Literacy Contest' in 2006. It is known for its high-impact  international service projects, such as the city-wide Concentrated Language Encounter  (CLE) literacy program (from 2002 to 2009), as well as the Center for Special Children  that was turned over to the local government in 2006. Among the local projects  recognized by media and/or the district are its 'Early Childhood Day Care Center' in Baras,  Rizal (2013), and its 'Bridging the Digital Divide' free Wi-Fi project (2021), both of which  are ongoing. It maintains 2 Rotaract Clubs and 2 Interact Clubs, for which it was adjudged  as the best club in Youth Service in RY 2022-23, as well as 3 Rotary Community Corps  (RCCs) with RCC Cupang 1 recently honored as the best RCC in the district.

It maintains an active social media presence in both Facebook and Instagram (it now also  has a YouTube channel and a TikTok account) for which it was recognized as the Best  Club in Social Media last year. It has a multi-purpose website  (https://rcmarikinanorth.org/), and was even featured in the cover of the Philippine  Rotary Magazine in its September 2005 issue, in celebration of its silver anniversary.
